Dear Diary,
Drawing has always been something I’ve loved. I started shifting into the digital art space when I started taking commissions. I went from doodling, to creating basic characters, to now animating, so it’s been a cool journey.

I stay motivated by reminding myself: there’s always someone out there with the same dream, working harder than me. If I want to be the best, I need to work the hardest. No shortcuts, no excuses.
Social media is both a blessing and a challenge. It’s a great tool to share your work with the world, but you also can get caught in the negativity of it quite easily. I try my best to do what I love and what my audience loves.
Monetizing my art started with commissions. Then, I started selling posters. Now I make money from a few different places with art and it truly feels like an honour. Sure, at the beginning, I got rejected like 100 times a day. But it never really bothered me. I just stuck with it. Though out of everything, I still prefer doing commissions. They’re straightforward and easy to handle. Prints come with the physical aspect of shipping and logistics which can get tedious.
When it comes to pricing, I consider time, complexity, and my skill level. My advice to other Gen Z artists? Don’t undersell yourself. Know your worth. Don’t let people take advantage of your time and energy.
Platforms like TikTok and Instagram definitely shaped how I post. I adapt. If trending sounds work for animations on TikTok, then cool. I’ll use them. Every platform has its own rhythm. One of the biggest things I do to connect with my audience is to just be real. I post stories, I show my face, I respond to comments, liking them and messaging people. I want my supporters to feel like they know me as a friend, not just as Klaksy.
Lastly, every job has its cons. With drawing, it’s the potential of burnout. But I try not to let it get to me. I constantly focus on what my goals are. If there’s people out there grinding 16-hour days and not crying about burnout, why should I? I just put my head down and work. No other option.
Till next time,
Klaksy
