Dear Diary,
Hi! My name is Gaia! I'm from Italy.

I've always loved art. As a child, I used to have my dad print out tons of drawings of my favorite cartoons so I could copy them and study them. Gradually, I felt the need to translate into art what I felt inside me, and I began to wa
t to tell stories through my art.
Lately, what inspires me are animals, nature, and everything that has a bit of witchcraft, mystery, and maybe even a little melancholy. Melancholy and sadness are perhaps the feelings that best allow me to create art.

I often feel trapped, and this is a recurring theme in my works. I like to represent it with brambles, and often with the figure of the wolf.
When it comes to the type of medium I use, I love watercolors, but I mainly work digitally, and sometimes I simulate watercolors digitally.
A weird or unexpected place where I get inspiration? Let’s say it’s not exactly a strange or unexpected place, but very often in the middle of the night while I’m in bed, I have an image in my head. And no matter what time it is, I get up and do a super quick draft, and the next morning I express myself completely.
Till next time!
Gaia Iacopino
