Dear Diary,
My name is Nieve. I'm 22 years old and I'm from Vancouver, BC, Canada.
I'm a fairly versatile artist, so I'm easily impressed with any sorta media. I heavily consume myself with shows that I'd tune in from YTV or Cartoon Network, like the Pokémon anime series or Beyblade. I'm also a big fan of the whole Pixar franchise, Dreamworks and Ghibli. They just all accumulate my passion for animation/art in general.

I am fond of bringing characters to life, even though it takes a long time to do so. For me, the process of bringing a character from a static T-pose to one full of personality is where the magic happens.
I really enjoyed the process of making my short film during my third year "I Just Want to Sleep." Although I'm aware that there's room for improvement (animation-wise), I enjoyed creating the whole concept and co-directing the film. It took the entire school year from September - April. I took elements of everyday life — the mundane routines of corporate culture — and transformed them into a slapstick comedy filled with chaos and panic.
I get the best ideas from sitting at my dining table alone, pondering, and eating my meal on autopilot. I will literally zone out, and then the most creative idea will light up in my head. I literally get a lightbulb moment just by doing so. That's literally how I came up with "I Just Want to Sleep".
Until next time!
Nieve
